Bio Diesel Plant, Mina Gerais, Brazil
In the State of Mina Gerais a bio-diesel plant with 15 production units capable of producing 70,000 litres/day of vegetable oil. The license has been approved for building commencement with a time line of 2 years for completion. A partnership agreement is signed with the Association of Cities in northeast section of Mina Gerais and IMDS. Over 1500 farming families with total production area 37,000 acres with additional 25,000 acres of farm land are available for sunflower crop production. After 3 years potential move to non-food oilseed with productivity of 2 tons/ha and 42% oil content is possible. Seed capital investment totalling BR$25m is required.
